BALINIT® ALDURA is a high-performance coating devised explicitly for solid carbide tools used in roughing and finishing of hardened steels and difficult-to-machine materials. Major competitive advantages in tool and die-making can be attained by cutting steels with hardnesses >60 HRC.

Dual structure solution
Its novel dual coating structure unites and enhances the strengths of proven systems.

Support layer

A perfectly adapted TiAlN base coating ensures excellent adhesion and affords great mechanical strength.

Functional layer
The nanocrystalline AlCrN-based coating features excellent hot hardness, resistance to oxidation and thermal insulating properties.

This combination opens the door to a new realm of performance in hard machining and in processes with difficult-to-machine materials.

Recommended applications:
•  On solid carbide end mills for roughing and finishing
•  Machining of hardened steels (>60 HRC)
•  High speed cutting (HSC)
•
