•	Environmental responsibility Oerlikon Balzers has taken the strategic decision to ensure that Environmental Management Systems are implemented and maintained in all the global production centres. This system will adhere to the requirements of ISO 14001. In order to achieve a consistent environmental performance worldwide there are mandatory Policies and Directives issued by Oerlikon Balzers. There are also several initiatives being progressed to ensure that a logical approach is taken towards the gradual introduction of practical Environmental Systems. A Global Environmental Policy has been endorsed to demonstrate commitment towards achieving sustainability and adherence to all applicable legal requirements. The first centres have been awarded the ISO 14001 environmental certification.
