In 1978 the official go-ahead was given for the development and market launch of  BALINIT®, a PVD coating. The first centre in the Asian region started operations in Japan in 1987. And the first centre in China was put into operations in Suzhou city in 2004. Currently, Oerlikon Balzers Coating offers coating services at more than 70 coating centres in 28 countries throughout Europe, America and Asia - a unique network that is continually expanding.
